Grown with Care in the Heart of New Zealand

Our mushroom farm is based in the lush, fertile countryside of the Waikato. This location offers the perfect climate and conditions for cultivating oyster mushrooms, a variety prized not only for its rich umami flavour but also for its health benefits. At Tio Mushrooms, we take pride in growing our mushrooms in a controlled, clean environment without the use of synthetic sprays or unnecessary additives.

Every mushroom we grow is carefully monitored to ensure freshness, consistency, and top quality. We harvest our mushrooms daily and deliver them fresh, so you can enjoy them at their best.

Our Process

We specialise in one thing and we do it well: growing oyster mushrooms. Our process is simple, sustainable, and focused on quality. We use a mix of recycled and natural materials as a growing substrate, supporting our mission to reduce waste and work in harmony with the environment.

Each batch of mushrooms goes through a carefully timed growing cycle, ensuring optimal conditions for size, shape, and flavour. From cultivation to delivery, every step of the journey is handled by us, giving you full transparency and confidence in what you’re eating.

For Foodies, Chefs, and Home Cooks

At Tio Mushrooms, we believe that gourmet mushrooms shouldn’t just be reserved for fine dining. That’s why we offer our fresh oyster mushrooms to a wide range of customers, from local restaurants and cafes to weekend market-goers and home cooks looking to elevate their meals.

Our mushrooms are ideal for:

  • Stir-fries, pastas, and risottos
  • Plant-based burgers or tacos
  • Simple pan-fried sides
  • Broths, soups, and ramen bowls
  • Grilled or marinated skewers

Whether you’re creating a simple dinner or an inspired dish for guests, our oyster mushrooms add a touch of something special.

Supporting local growers makes a difference, not only for the environment, but also for the community. As a small New Zealand business, we value sustainability in every part of our operation. From our growing methods to our packaging and delivery routes, we aim to tread lightly and give back wherever possible.

Buying locally grown oyster mushrooms means you’re getting a fresher, more sustainable product while also supporting a business that truly cares about what it grows and how it impacts the world around it.
